ob Summary:

The Database Administrator Specialist will be responsible for the design, implementation, and

maintenance of database systems across SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL

environments. This role involves optimizing database performance, ensuring data integrity, and

implementing security measures to protect our data assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management:

o Administer and maintain databases in SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and

PostgreSQL environments.

o Perform regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations.

o Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and schemas to improve

efficiency.

Database Design and Implementation:

o Design and implement database structures and schemas to support business

requirements.

o Develop and maintain database scripts for data migration, import/export, and

automation.

o Ensure database design adheres to industry best practices and compliance standards.

Security and Compliance:

o Implement and manage database security measures to protect sensitive data.

o Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments on database systems.

o Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.

Performance Tuning and Optimization:

o Monitor and analyze database performance metrics and resolve performance issues.

o Optimize database configurations, queries, and indexing strategies for improved

performance.

o Implement and manage database caching and replication strategies.

Incident Response and Troubleshooting:

o Respond to and resolve database-related incidents and issues in a timely manner.

o Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and connectivity problems.

o Provide support for application development teams in resolving database-related issues.

Documentation and Reporting:o Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations,

procedures, and policies.

o Generate and review database performance reports and analytics.

o Provide regular updates to stakeholders on database performance, issues, and

resolutions.

Collaboration and Support:

o Collaborate with IT and development teams to support database integration and

application development.

o Provide training and support to team members on database-related tools and

technologies.

o Stay current with database technologies and industry trends to recommend

improvements.

Qualifications:

Experience:

o At least 3-5 years of experience in database administration with expertise in SQL Server,

MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.

o Proven experience with database performance tuning, security management, and

backup/recovery procedures.

Skills:

o Strong knowledge of database design, implementation, and maintenance for SQL Server,

MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.

o Experience with database monitoring and optimization tools.

o Proficiency in SQL scripting and query optimization.

o Familiarity with database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.

Certifications:

o Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator

Associate, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), MySQL Database Administrator,

PostgreSQL Certified Professional, or similar are preferred.
